Boho Style Seattle Newborn Photoshoot
Trying out my new in-home studio! I recently finished setting up a studio to use for newborn photoshoots a white-brick accent wall, boho style decor, and fresh plants. This set-up matched perfectly with the "Boho Style Newborn" theme that I was striving for - the final photos turned out stunning.
This cute baby was really unhappy to be in front of the camera and was crying all session! I let the mom keep the baby in her arms for the majority of the time and shot some candid photos of the two of them together. If the baby really needs more time to get comfortable, I usually recommend that the rest of the family goes to grab coffee nearby while I work with the mother on posing her baby. During newborn photoshoots, I always emphasize the importance of the baby's comfort level throughout the session. This is absolutely essential in order to capture the newborn in their natural element - but even when the baby is cranky, there are always beautiful photos that can still be captured!
Timing for Newborn Photoshoots
My clients usually think that they need to wait a couple of months before booking their newborn photoshoot - but that is absolutely not true! In fact, I always advise new parents that the earlier they book the shoot, the better. The younger they are, the sleepeier the newborn is; and this makes it much easier to capture natural photos of them. You can book your newborn photoshoot just as short as 14 days after they are born!
Of course, this doesn't mean that you can't wait to get situated with your baby at home before having a photosession. You will still achieve great results and pictures just as beautiful if you book a later session.
