When it comes to natural greenery and scenic locations, living in Seattle puts me at a major advantage! During this time of year, I start to prepare for fall photoshoots by scoping out some beautiful locations in the PNW that are perfect for capturing beautiful photos, with diverse warm-toned color palette. Read through this blog post to learn about my favorite shoot location, how to prep for a fall photoshoot as a client, and previews from a gallery of senior photos.
Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons to capture beautiful photos that you will treasure forever; whether this may be capturing a milestone, celebrating your newborn, capturing your senior year, family photos with a fall twist, or just because!
Through my experience, I have recognized some details that can make your photoshoot flow a lot smoothly, especially around this time of year:
- Schedule a slot during the first two weeks of October. This is usually when the leaves are the most colorful, and diversity in colors will make for a stunning background!
- Try to coordinate an outfit with warm tones that will compliment the “fall color palette.” Gravitate to shades similar to warm green, olive green, dark hazel, amber golden brown, brick red, and maroon.
- The weather can be unpredictable during around this time of year, so book a couple of weeks ahead of time in case you have to reschedule due to weather conditions.
My top three favorite fall family photoshoot locations in the pacific northwest
I love this place so much because as you can see in the pictures it provides so much variety in the scenery, train tracks, lakes, brick walls, and a lot of fall leaves as well. it's as if you went to 5 different locations but you actually didn't leave your place and everything is within 5-minute walking distance from each other.
Willis D. tucker park in Everett
This park gets an abundance of fall leaves in October that is hard to beat, it creates an amazing colorful backdrop to take family photo sessions.
This park offers a beautiful waterfront with a beach and the floors get covered with leaves during the fall time, its location right in the middle of Redmond makes it a perfect place for taking photoshoots for busy families that can't drive far.
